Separation and Settlement Agreement

A Separation and Settlement Agreement is a contract entered into between two spouses determining their legal rights and obligations to one another arising out of their marriage, including the payment or waiver of maintenance/spousal support, and the determination of their economic issues, such as dividing their bank accounts, retirement plans, other financial accounts, real property, personal property and allocating the marital debt.   This Agreement can lead immediately to divorce, but many spouses choose to remain married for personal, religious or financial reasons, such as for health insurance purposes.  At Falco and Morton Law, PLLC, we take the time discuss your options as well as legal and practical effects of an Agreement.   We negotiate and draft Separation Agreements that protect our client's interests.
